Vindicator Maraad World of Warcraft Action Figure Review
Draenei or the "exiled ones" are extremely intelligent and had a vast affinity of all forms of magic. Using their gifts they joined the alliance to help battle the forces of the horde and the scourge.

Now we have the Draenei Paladin Vindicator Maraad up for review which marks the beginning of Series 2 of our World of Warcraft Action Figure reviews. The main figure stands at 9.5" and 11.5" including all the accessories. Because of the design of his armor among other things this figure has a lot of things to offer when it comes to the sculpt and we have a lot of things to highlight so expect tons of images to load after the break. If you have a slow connection please be patient as we'll try to make this worthwhile. And don't forget to click on the images to get a closer look.

As with all deluxe figures to come out of DC Unltd's Warcraft line this one is also packaged in a box with a plastic window to get a good look at the main figure.

This figure is huge and it's the largest one we've reviewed yet. It's pretty heavy too. Inside you'll get the main figure, the stand and his hammer or more like a sledge hammer made out of draenei stone.

Here's a 360 view of the main figure without the accessory. The pose seems like he's charging up for power this would really look great if I can find a way to put some kind of lighting or aura beneath him.

The hammer is the only accessory detached to the main figure. The head of the hammer seems to be made of some kind of magical stone. I'm sorry but I don't play World of Warcraft so I wouldn't be sure what to call it but I think I remember somebody referring to it as Draenei stone. The colors look great and smooth kinda looks like the material used already has the pinkish color built in. The only let down here is the small blob of paint on the small stone on the handle. I really feel that it could have easily been avoided.

Here's the turn around with the hammer.

The face seems to only have a blank stare to it. I think the sculptor could've put in a better one than a blank stare.

The overall theme of his armor seem to be eagles with both arms having slightly different armor designs.

The armor on his left shoulder looks fantastic. The colors give it an authentic battle wear and tear look to it.

Like any Paladin Maraad also brings his own book of spells just in case he forgot an incantation or two. The details on the front and back cover of  the book look great. The cover is gives it a cool vintage look to it.

He's also got long flowing hair which seems to be carried by the wind.

His knee plates are different from the eagle theme of his upper body armor. This time we got lions. For some reason I really like how they color solid armor with a little bit of black to make it look authentic. It gives it a somewhat dirty and battle wear and tear look to it.

Draeneis have legs like a horse, hairy and with matching hooves. Maraad's armor is lined with a bazillion gold trimmings and accents. With so many gold lining his armor some look like they weren't colored as great as the other places which you'd only notice if you look real hard so I guess it's still okay.

Draeneis are one of the biggest races in World of Warcraft and Maraad is a great example of that. Just look at this guy's hooves. That little gold pointy thing on his hoof, I think it's an eagle.

His tail also has great detail on it with a little accessory on it. I think it's what they call a tail ring. The biggest let down I see in this figure is the way the gold lining on his blue cloth was made. The gold color that's supposed to be there looks like a mess. It was covered in blue or wasn't colored enough.

The armor on the body has been given great detail. It looks like it's a multi-layered armor with gold lining each layer. You can also see the straps on his side that give it a realistic look. You can also see chain mail under his armor which isn't as great as the one we saw from Thargas Anvilmar but it still looks great. Specially the one under the arms.

On his backside you can see details like small pouches on his belt which are great but I really don't like how they colored the back of his belt. The gold accents that are supposed to be there looks like it was rushed or not done at all. Somebody was in a hurry to finish coloring.

Here's another look at his face and shoulder plates. The tentacles on his face even have their own gold rings which looks really great. I'm glad the colors on it weren't as bad as the other parts.

Vindicator Maraad is a great figure with great detail on the sculpting but like most of the figures we've reviewed so far the coloring needs to be improved specially on a deluxe figure. This figure would look great on any display case or shelf. Just don't look too close or else you'll see the coloring mishaps. Check back next week as we will review a figure of the smallest race on World of Warcraft.

Hi. I just noticed that my figure's face seems a bit closer to the right shoulder armor, and he's looking more straight the to the top left. Plus the gold in his armor is a bit dark. Does this have something to do with storing conditions? Would appreciate it if you answered. Thanks.

@anonymous - did it look that way the first time you unboxed him? Storage conditions usually affect the figure and dependng on it we get different changes on the figure. My advise is to keep it away from sunlight as much as possible and to put it in a cool dry place.

PS. You might want to put in a name so we can recognize you the next time. Thanks!

hey! could you please tell me how to tell the differences between a real and a fake WoW action figure? thanks!

@Cardin - there isn't a sure fire way to identify fake figures... aside from the obvious ones like size and really bad quality of the figures... but if you want to make sure you're buying authentic figures... buy 'em from trusted stores...
