Archilon Shadowheart World of Warcraft Action Figure Review
Here we are with another edition of our World of Warcraft action figure reviews and this time we have the first human to be immortalized in 3D the warrior Archilon Shadowheart. Archilon has no appearance in any other medium in the Warcraft lore except for being an action figure. This figure stands at around 6.75" at it's highest point and features one of the best looking accessories so far in all of the figures we've reviewed so far. So take the plunge and don't forget to click on the images for a closer look.

Here's the usual clam shell plastic case. Inside you'll still find the mini comic book common to all series 2 figures.

Here's the figure unboxed. All the accessories aren't attached to the main figure. You got his sword and shield plus a small bag of arrows with different sizes. There's also an assembly guide just in case you don't know where to stick all those arrows into. So if you like accessories on your figure Archilon is on top of your list.

Here's the turn around of the main figure without all the accessories. As you can see here's another figure that can be displayed even without all the accessories. He seems to be wearing the Dreadnaught battle gear. The grey and black color of the armor looks real enough with all the battle dirt adding to the authenticity of the look.

Here's a close up of the shield and sword. I really like how the colors go into this figure. The blue color on each skull looks great and gives out just the right glow. According to WoW Wiki he seems to be wielding The Hungering Cold which I can say is the best looking sword or weapon we've reviewed so far. The skull has the great blue eyes that give out a great glow to it not to mention all the markings on the actual blade.

Here's the main figure with all the accessories attached. I'm really not sure why but I'm detecting a trend here. Most of the action figures are looking down or seems to be fighting someone smaller than they are. Damn those dwarves and gnomes always picking a fight. This figure looks decent but because of the dark colors you easily forget about all the great details on it. It's kind of like looking at a collage of images with everything having the same shade. So after about 10 seconds it gets really boring to look at. At some point that is. Luckily it's loaded with accessories that we can look at.

Here's a close up of the face. As he's actually looking at a lower angle I had to adjust the camera's position just to get a good shot. And am I the only one who thinks his face is kind of thin?

The shoulder is decorated with large skulls with blue eyes that kind of glows. Good thing the eye color of the skulls have been done just the way I like them, otherwise this figure would be too boring.

The design of his armor is very consistent, what you see on the left is mostly the same with the right side. Just take a look at the hands.

Don't get me wrong, I love the great details on this armor and the colors are done just right. But I feel like I'm drowning in too much of the same thing and it kind of bores me. Take a look at the torso. The design and sculpt looks okay and a lot of detail is put into it, but I really don't feel enthusiastic about it. One thing I like about this figure is it has a lot of straps all around which gives it an authentic look.

If it wasn't obvious to you the theme of his armor and design is skulls all over. Here's a good look at his leg.  The colors are great but I think that's what's boring me about this figure. It almost looks plain when you don't get a closer look. As I said this figure also has straps all over the place and from what I can see every strap is where it's supposed to be and it all makes sense.

Here's a look at this back. Great effort has been put in sculpting the design on his back plate even though it would be covered by his cape. For some reason I really couldn't get a clear shot of his back plate so please bear with the one I managed to get.

I think the sculptor was trying to go for a torn cape effect but I think it looks more like rotting to me.

Archilon Shadowheart is a great figure when you look closely. With all the great accessories like his sword and shield anybody who loves skull based design would get a kick out of this figure. The main problem I think is when you just take a glance at the whole figure. He really doesn't jump at you like the other ones we've reviewed so far. It maybe because of the overall design of the figure. Everything is the same when you look at him left or right that it gets boring real fast. That's my opinion though. I'm pretty sure those who like consistent and simple designs would love this figure.
