The Worst Week Of My Blogging Life

Saturday, March 13, 2010

As a self proclaimed internet addict I have multiple gadgets to keep me online anywhere and anytime. I have a desktop computer which I mainly use to download videos and large files, I also have a laptop which I usually use to blog around the house or in bed. For short term browsing I use my iPod Touch so I can still be online while I eat or if I suddenly remember something I needed to check online while watching TV or if I needed to check on Facebook or something like that. So why did I enumerate everything I use to go online? So that you can understand how hard this week has been for me to blog. This week has been my personal geek gadget Armageddon! Thankfully everything ended with me unboxing one of AOC's LED Monitors which I will share with you in the next post.

Imagine this, the laptop I mainly use to blog has no way of powering up or getting charged because the adapter died on me. So when I looked around I just found out those things cost around PHP 3,100 which is still a substantial amount of money and the first store I went to even sold it for around PHP 5,000 (talk about over pricing). I just bought a lot of other stuff so I really wouldn't be able to afford it just yet, but I wasn't worried since I still had my desktop to do my blogging. How lucky can I be if my desktop's monitor didn't work anymore after just two days without a laptop? It's like the God of Blogging is testing my commitment to write new posts. All I had was my trusty iPod Touch which honestly with the way things were going, I wouldn't be surprised if it suddenly broke down on me but luckily Apple's quality got through for me. But unfortunately there's no way anyone can blog seriously on the 3.2" screen. I got dizzy just by trying. But I had to post something or else I'd go into shock or worse, I might even get all the election jingles stuck in my head (nakaligo ka na ba sa... argh!). Luckily we had a designated place in the office where we can surf the net during our "breaks" so I was able to bust out one post, but I really wasn't comfortable there since I only had a few minutes to read and post new stuff. Luckily my Mom understood how important being online was for me and helped finance a new adapter for the laptop and this brand spanking new AOC LED Monitor! I'm sorry if I seemed inconsistent the last couple of days but now I'm back and I'm going to make up for lost time. Starting with the unboxing of the first LED Monitor to be released in the Philippines!

I know exactly how you feel. I was just as frustrated using my iPhone to do blog posts but now I use http://posterous.com/ for my blog. You post your blog by sending one email but it doesn't just post to your blog it sends the post to twitter, facebook you name it. I virtually run my blog: Geek Gadget from my iPhone. Wherever I am in the world I can post updates and keep everyone in the loop with the latest geek gadget news.

Good luck.
