You Can Play Crysis on the iPad! With a Little Help from the Cloud

Sunday, April 04, 2010

I've been thinking heavily about buying myself an iPad, yes I too am human and would sometimes be tempted enough to buy something so shiny. I'm thinking I can use it to replace all the organizers and sticky notes I use around the office plus it would divert all the attention away from my geeky face. But then again I'm still thinking it over, heavily. Now I stumbled upon this little clip from TechCrunch which really doesn't help me fight the urge to pick an iPad up when it becomes available on our shores. Crysis running on an iPad, just thinking about it would melt a gamer's head. Check on it after the break and try to breath  around the 25 seconds it takes to watch it.

Apparently all the graphics heavy processing isn't really happening on the iPad itself. All the heavy processing is being handled by a service called OTOY which then streams it to your web browser in this case the iPad's Mobile Safari. But who cares right? As long as we can play it. Starcraft II please. Please! PLEASE!!!
