Dota 2 Valve Official

Well it looks like everything is under way and we will soon see DotA or Defense of the Ancients (to make things longer) in a new and apparently Valve funded version simply called Dota 2. In case you were wondering it's no longer called "Defense of the Ancients" it's just simply named Dota 2 without having any kind of acronym or secret gamer lingo. Valve just officially announced everything in a Press Release covered by the guys over at GameInformer. Details are kind of slim right now and I still haven't seen any gameplay footage and the image you see above is something I only snatched from Joystiq's coverage, I don't even know who or what it is. So far the only thing(s) we know is that it will be available for both MAC and PC with a 2011 release date and it will have the hundred plus heroes you've come to worship and love. Word is it'll even have "Social Features", so I'm guessing you can b*tch slap your friends on Facebook when you Triple Kill their team. You can see the short press release after the break.
