Gibzz Sparklighter Warcraft Figure Review

First of all I would like to say sorry for the delay in posting this review, I've been kind of busy with real world stuff and what not. Or I maybe I was just too lazy to do anything in the past few days. You go ahead and take your pick. Anyway, I know everyone's waiting for the Thrall Figure Review but we have a way of doing things here and we really want to keep everything in line so we don't lose track of things. So the next figure up for review is The Goblin Tinker: Gibzz Sparklighter. I know most of you out there don't care about this figure mainly because he's not that great to look at and to tell you frankly, I agree. But our goal is to review every Warcraft Figure released by DC Unltd no matter how much we dislike it. I'm sure somebody out there likes this figure, so this one is for you.

Like every Warcraft Figure Review we have here we would like to enlighten you with a short clip of what Goblin's are in World of Warcraft care of WoW Wiki:

Goblins are small humanoids, crafty and shrewd, bearing an overwhelming interest in commerce and a strong curiosity about mechanical things. Goblin society is fragmented, defined chiefly by commerce and trade. The ultimate schemers and con artists, goblins are always in search of a better deal. Despite their seemingly chaotic natures, they exist in a fairly strict and straightforward hierarchy. Other races universally view goblins as inventors, merchants and, without exception, maniacs.

I hope that gives you more of a sense on why this figure features a big rocket. So without further delay here's a shot of the packaging. As the figure is mainly composed of the rocket and with virtually no accessories at all this may be the shortest review yet.

As you can see, this figure is more of a "what you see is what you get" type with everything already attached to the figure and ready for display. I was actually expecting it to be on the heavy side because of the rocket but it seems light enough to assume that the rocket is hollow.

Here's the turn around shot of the figure. I hope you don't mind some of the blurry stuff. I'm not actually sure what happened with those shots and I can't seem to get them right. Or maybe I'm not that enthusiastic about taking shots of this figure in the first place. I just feel that everything is about the rocket. Don't get me wrong here, I love the details on it and it actually reminds me of those Acme rockets Wile E. Coyote used to make. I guess I'm more of a weapon lover than I thought. But this is the perfect way to portray a Goblin like Gibzz. Crude technology with a dash of psychotic disregard for safety (no seat belts on a rocket).

Here's a face only a mother can love. Goblin Mother that is. The best thing I like about the Gibzz Sparklighter figure is how they managed to turn him into the grease monkey... err... goblin that he is using all those colors representing grease and oil. Just look at the face and shirt. Whoever colored this figure really did a great job.

There's only a couple of things I can show you since Goblins are fairly small creatures. The gloves are nicely done and the wrench... well... looks like a wrench. Grease and oil still everywhere specially on the gloves. It would have been nicer if the wrench actually had some smudged on it.

Here's a closer look at the rocket. I really can't say much about it aside from the fact that it's made of wooden planks and a tip I'm guessing is made of some kind of light metal. Good colors and details all around and I really like that it looks goofy enough to work and probably drop back to earth at mind numbing speeds. I'm not actually sure if this is a missile type of rocket or some kind of transportation. I wonder what the cross-hair up front is for.

I'm liking the fact that their integrating the stands to the overall design of the figures now. Not like the previous figures that had black plates with pegs to hold the figure up right. This time they out in smoke which was colored pretty nicely if you ask me.

Although the Goblin Tinker: Gibzz Sparklighter isn't a big name in World of Warcraft he sure is a great way to represent what Goblins are all about. Crude Technology that works with a great disregard to safety among other things. The Gibzz Sparklighter figure is probably for Goblin lovers and people with a taste for do-it-yourself rockets. With Magni bronzebeard and Sylvanas Windrunner in the same set I'm sure we'll see Gibzz hanging around display shelves for a long time.
