It's always nice to look back at the games that when out of their way to show us sheer violence. Mortal Kombat was big when it came out because of all the gore and punishment it bestowed upon the losing player's character. But I guess everybody out grew all the blood and gore and started to look for the fun factor which Mortal Kombat really didn't have, so now let's just look back and see all the blood and gore without the actual blood and gore (did I make sense?) with this stop motion video of Mortal Kombat Fatalities done with paper. That's if you click the break.

It actually took me a while before I can post this because I was hyperventilating over the news that Street Fighter X Tekken is a real project being developed by Capcom in cooperation with Namco Bandai. This is probably the holy grail of fighting games as both franchises are massively successful in their own right. Street Fighter X Tekken was recently announced over at the San Diego ComicCon and hordes of Street Fighter and Tekken fans went wild and I'm sure I would've fainted if I was there. Logically two versions of the game are being developed where Street Fighter X Tekken is being handled over at Capcom and will most likely use Street Fighter IV's fighting engine while Tekken X Street Fighter will be made over at Namco Bandai which obviously will use Tekken's fighting engine. We got two videos after the break including actual gameplay footage of Ryu and Kazuya going at it plus the official teaser trailer.

There's a lot of great stuff in store for us in the online gaming space, we have some stuff for kids and now we have something for the comic book geeks that've been waiting for something epic to come to our doorstep. DC Universe Online is probably the most anticipated game to come out of 2010 and it's only a matter of time before we get our hands on one this November. I just hope it's as good as we expect since a lot of big name heroes are riding on it. I wonder which heroes we can play as or are we going to create our very own DC Universe Online characters. I can only say the teaser trailer after the break is enough to spin your head.

Disney's Tron Legacy is really shaping up to be a great movie, visual effects wise. I'm really not sure what's going on with the whole young and old Jeff Bridges in the trailer but if your into all the great visuals and action scenes, not to mention all the light cycles speeding through each cut scene then your eyes would probably have the time of their lives when you watch the full on Tron Legacy Movie trailer after the break.

I guess Ryan Reynolds will be the next guy to be worshiped by comic book fans all over the world or should I say Green Lantern Comic book fans including myself. Not too mention that he's sharing a bed with Scarlett Johansson. Ryan Reynolds landing the part of the cosmic cop is probably old news and I guess a lot of us are relieved to know that Justin Timberlake didn't make the cut because well... I don't know... maybe he was too curly I guess, among other things. Ryan Reynolds sure looks like Hal Jordan but I really can't shake the feeling that he's more of a comedic smart ass than what's necessary for the part. I just hope the director knows what he's doing because a lot of geeks are going to watch this movie armed with their own blogs to post about how great or terrible it is. We have the whole front cover if you want to see the whole costume.

The Lego onslaught continues and it seems like the future is full of bricked people namely characters from Futurama. I guess all the apocalyptic scientists were wrong, we won't be over run by robots with laser beams coming out of there eyes we are actually doomed to become Lego bricks. I'm really not sure how that would happen but with the way things are going now eventually everything will be made of colorful plastic bricks. I know it's a scary thought but let's just enjoy these cute little lego creations that turned the metal bending robot... err... Bender... into a couple of plastic bricks. We have a couple more images of the lobster dude and that girl with one eye all bricked and legolized after the break.

With everybody singing his tunes and screaming his name Justin Bieber is probably one of the most successful talents to branch out of YouTube along side our very own Charice Pempengco of course. But it seems like Justin Bieber is going to 1up Charice with his very own comic book to be released this October entitled "Fame". Here's a clip of what it's about:

“Like The Beatles, Justin Bieber started life in simple public housing, and also like The Beatles, he is forced to balance fame with his humble beginnings as he comes of age with the whole world screaming his name. Fame: Justin Bieber traces the career of this Youtube sensation from his musical childhood in Ontario to the stage of his first headlining tour.”I was actually hoping the comic book would involve zombies or aliens ripping his heart out but I guess we'll just have to wait for a better comic book writer to come along and save the day.

The "500 Million Friends Movie" officially titled "The Social Network" or most commonly known as "The Facebook Movie" just released it's full official trailer onto the interwebs, and it's showing off great scenes and cool creep-y music too. I can say this movie is going to be a hit because it's got everything we need... college guys and gals, raging hormones, betrayal and of course lots and lots of money. Not to mention it's about the most famous social network on the planet to date. I don't know about the other countries but since the Philippines is the social networking capital of Asia and a lot of it is due to Facebook I'm sure hordes of it's users will be curious enough to go see it, specially when you see the full trailer after the break.

Lindsay in uncontrollable tears, talking to her lawyer and pleading for mercy after Judge Marsha Ravel sentenced her to 90 days in jail, starting 20th of July, over at the court in Beverly Hills, CA.
LL was stunned with the decision and pleads that the court be a little lenient with her. To her defense, her lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley agrees with her that the decision was quite too much. However, she was reported to quit the case and the Lohans are now in the process of interviewing potential lawyers that would represent her in November.

I'm sure everybody remembers the first trailer of the Social Network Movie, with it's eerie sounds and floating texts and not to mention the 500 million friends and enemies part. I guess I'm kind of weirded out that we now have a second trailer out and it still has the same eerie sounds but this time we have moving chat boxes and voices showing Mark Zuckerberg and friends talking to everybody else who thinks his idea is great and a piece of stolen crap at the same time. I'm slowly accepting that this is going to be a dark movie about a site that promotes friendship and connections, see the irony there? Anyway, it's only a matter of time now before we see the Farmville Movie Trailer making the rounds.

With the latest Harry Potter Movie trailer hitting the web and hordes of fans ignoring everything else happening in the world, it's now time to shift our focus to the little movies that made us laugh our guts out. With Ben Stiller and Robert DeNiro in the flick I really don't think we have much to worry about except for the fact that the Fockers series is going on it's third movie and like Shrek or any other franchise that's going on it's 3rd installment there's a little bit of hesitation from movie goers. We sometimes feel that a series may already be dragging and movie studios are just trying to squeeze something out of an already dried fruit. The Little Fockers is basically the same thing as the first two Fockers movies but now they have kids. How funny can it be? Check the trailer after the break and let us know.

I'm pretty sure when I was a kid I more or less had a dream that I was in a video game. With all those 8-bit games stuck to my head I'm sure it was inevitable. Apparently one guy had his 8-bit dreams when he was all grown-up so what did he do? He made a video about it. He basically travels through different video game stages and beats each one seamlessly. He could've put in a hit or two on his character just to add more drama to the video but then again it's his dream. Luckily he didn't go into any of the games we have today. Imagine if he suddenly got to a "Silent Hill" stage. It's about 5 minutes long but a nice watch if you don't have anything better to do.

I guess we're going to have a movie about social networking or AKA the "Facebook Movie". The teaser trailer gives us a clue of the rough start and challenges Mark Zuckerberg had to face during the rise of the biggest social network to date. The movie's tagline is "You can't make 500 million friends without making a few enemies" which is basically true and when you jump from a college kid to a billionaire you're definitely going to run into a lot of problems and probably overly jealous friends along the way. The movie stars Jesse Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg and would probably hit theaters around October. The text and sound teaser trailer is available to you after the break.

Here's your chance to score a free movie pass to Twilight Saga: Eclipse. All you need is a little patience to dial a phone number and an Ayala Malls Acard. Oh, and you need to be close to an Ayala Mall but then again who isn't right? If you live in the Philippines that is. I know a lot of girls and probably guys would want to see this movie just to see Edward and Jacob bite the living day lights out of that evil vampire army we always see in the trailers. Not to mention poor helpless Bella who's still not a vampire by the way. Check the break for all the little details and the poster that's too small too read.

The reboot of the popular 80's franchise is making it's way to the big screen. The first web trailer of The Green Hornet Movie kicks ass with a little bit err... mostly comedic styles of Seth Rogen. Now I'm not really familiar with the original Green Hornet but I'm thinking he wasn't as goofy as Seth when it comes to all the goofing around we see in the trailer. Although Kato looks to be more like the original assuming that he's the total ass kicker in the series, not to mention Bruce Lee was the original Kato. You can check on all the action after the break.

Hi Gleeks! Rumor has it that Charice will join the cast of Glee. She denied it before, but now it seems that the skies cleared up and she really IS joining our favorite show! According to the story, she will be a foreign exchange student with a powerful voice and will be Rachel’s (Lea Michele) rival. This season is soooo oozing with excitement! Can’t Stop saying that I’m proud to be a Filipina.
Let’s all root for our very own child wonder, Charice!
Update: Charice confirmed via her official Twitter Account Check out her tweet after the break.

Damn it! The international trailer for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is so damn EPIC! Now all my geek senses are demanding I watch it when it comes out. So if you've been trying to resist the urge to watch Michael Cera take down evil ex-boy/girlfriends you really shouldn't watch the video after the break.

Looks like everything that proves how old we are is making a come back. With all the cult favorites coming back it's no surprise Sony Pictures is picking up on another franchise and raising it from the grave err... in this case a very small grave. The Smurfs are back and they're hitting the big screen. I'm not actually sure if they're planning to mix CG Smurfs with live action peeps like what they did with the Chipmunks but if the trailer after the break is any indication then I guess we can see those little blue guys hitting the streets sometime next year. Now if you know who and what the Smurfs are I'm betting you're at least 25 years old which is a great age to be a geek. Except when you don't have a job and continually ask your Mom to fund all your collections. Pint-sized trailer when you read more.
