It actually took me a while before I can post this because I was hyperventilating over the news that Street Fighter X Tekken is a real project being developed by Capcom in cooperation with Namco Bandai. This is probably the holy grail of fighting games as both franchises are massively successful in their own right. Street Fighter X Tekken was recently announced over at the San Diego ComicCon and hordes of Street Fighter and Tekken fans went wild and I'm sure I would've fainted if I was there. Logically two versions of the game are being developed where Street Fighter X Tekken is being handled over at Capcom and will most likely use Street Fighter IV's fighting engine while Tekken X Street Fighter will be made over at Namco Bandai which obviously will use Tekken's fighting engine. We got two videos after the break including actual gameplay footage of Ryu and Kazuya going at it plus the official teaser trailer.

There's a lot of great stuff in store for us in the online gaming space, we have some stuff for kids and now we have something for the comic book geeks that've been waiting for something epic to come to our doorstep. DC Universe Online is probably the most anticipated game to come out of 2010 and it's only a matter of time before we get our hands on one this November. I just hope it's as good as we expect since a lot of big name heroes are riding on it. I wonder which heroes we can play as or are we going to create our very own DC Universe Online characters. I can only say the teaser trailer after the break is enough to spin your head.

Like the rest of the world I'm really not sure why Mattel would stick a web cam and LCD up Barbie's ass. I know she's trying to go all techie on us but I think this is going too far. I mean it looks like a freakin' spy cam for young innocent girls. I've been searching around and so far this looks like it's not yet ready for mass consumption which is good and I really hope pervs don't get all creative with this thing. The guys over at TechCrunch got one of these sent to them and they posted a video and we have it embedded after the break.

Oh Lego, you never seize to amaze us with all the things you can do. It's like you know what we want to make even before we realize it. Like having pets in your very own online game, Lego Universe is set to be released this October 26th 2010 to children and most likely adults who refuse to grow up. The creators just released a couple more trailers of the game's features and what you can do in Lego Universe. One of the things I like is the ability to train your very own pet, I know you'll love this weird bricked creature even though they look like hideous freaks and are probably as big as your in-game character. You can watch the video after the break explaining how you can get your very own pet in Lego Universe and what you can do with the little... err... big guy in the game.

It looks like DC's been busy with promoting everything Green Lantern. Apparently DC's intergalactic cop franchise is slowly crawling it's way into a lot of things including a movie a couple of animated films and now a Video Game. Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters is probably one of the epic milestones in Green Lantern, for the unfamiliar the Manhunters are the emotionless robot cops the Green Lanterns replaced. Right after they figured they were better than everybody else the Manhunters tried to take over the universe just like that little toaster of yours. The game is being developed by the guys over at Double Helix and I really hope they do a good job because you really don't want to disappoint hordes of geeks who literally own the interwebs. We got the full poster after the break if you're still interested.

With only one more day before we sacrifice our social life to play Starcraft 2 I happened to stumble upon a trailer every Starcraft 2 player should watch to keep us sane in the next 40 hours or so of waiting for our local shops to deliver the latest version of Starcraft to our cold sweaty hands. The latest trailer is called "Ghosts of the Past" and centers around Jim Raynor and how he blames himself for what happened to Kerrigan. They can really turn this thing into a movie which I'm pretty sure would sell out faster than you can say hydralisk. I'm already watching it for the third time and boredom still isn't getting any closer. I can rave all about the video after the break but I'd rather let you watch it yourself.

Another day another geek tourist spot in Japan. Here's one more place to visit before you kick the bucket, the Life-Sized Neon Genesis Evangelion Bust is on display at the Fuji-Q Highland theme park. It opened last July 23, 2010 and is slowly getting crowds wanting to see Eva-01 in all it's life-sized glory. Now it's really obvious that Japan is planning to over run each country with a giant robot. I'm still waiting for the life-sized Voltes V to show up or maybe even Daimos. But for now check on the break to see more shots of Eva-01's head and a couple of cosplaying girls.

I guess Ryan Reynolds will be the next guy to be worshiped by comic book fans all over the world or should I say Green Lantern Comic book fans including myself. Not too mention that he's sharing a bed with Scarlett Johansson. Ryan Reynolds landing the part of the cosmic cop is probably old news and I guess a lot of us are relieved to know that Justin Timberlake didn't make the cut because well... I don't know... maybe he was too curly I guess, among other things. Ryan Reynolds sure looks like Hal Jordan but I really can't shake the feeling that he's more of a comedic smart ass than what's necessary for the part. I just hope the director knows what he's doing because a lot of geeks are going to watch this movie armed with their own blogs to post about how great or terrible it is. We have the whole front cover if you want to see the whole costume.

With everybody singing his tunes and screaming his name Justin Bieber is probably one of the most successful talents to branch out of YouTube along side our very own Charice Pempengco of course. But it seems like Justin Bieber is going to 1up Charice with his very own comic book to be released this October entitled "Fame". Here's a clip of what it's about:

“Like The Beatles, Justin Bieber started life in simple public housing, and also like The Beatles, he is forced to balance fame with his humble beginnings as he comes of age with the whole world screaming his name. Fame: Justin Bieber traces the career of this Youtube sensation from his musical childhood in Ontario to the stage of his first headlining tour.”I was actually hoping the comic book would involve zombies or aliens ripping his heart out but I guess we'll just have to wait for a better comic book writer to come along and save the day.

You have to leave it to the hardcore nerds to take the fun off of everything we simpletons ridicule. The age old question of "Which came first? The chicken or the egg?" has finally been solved. Now I really don't know why the nerd heads over at Sheffield University UK even bothered to seriously look into the question but it all points to some kind of plot to rid the world of useless debates stemming from useless questions. Anyway, they say the chicken came first because a protein called ovocledidin-17 or commonly known as OC-17 was needed to create the shell of the egg, so something had to evolve into a chicken before we can have "chicken eggs". So let's move along people there's nothing funny to see here. Next challenge? Why Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall in the first place.

Lindsay in uncontrollable tears, talking to her lawyer and pleading for mercy after Judge Marsha Ravel sentenced her to 90 days in jail, starting 20th of July, over at the court in Beverly Hills, CA.
LL was stunned with the decision and pleads that the court be a little lenient with her. To her defense, her lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley agrees with her that the decision was quite too much. However, she was reported to quit the case and the Lohans are now in the process of interviewing potential lawyers that would represent her in November.

I always enjoyed playing Starcraft and Warcraft but I never had the chance or probably never dreamed of playing competitively. I guess my lazy brain already new the hassle of multitasking too much when playing competitively. PC Games or rather any game nowadays are very serious and there are a lot of people taking things to the extreme just to be number one and with good reason. Video game champs earn money and a lot of it. But I never imagined that you had to do 300 actions in 60 seconds just to be at par or have a sliver of a chance at being competitive with pro gamers. 300 moves in 60 seconds? How the hell do you do that? And most importantly what the hell are you doing with 300 moves every 60 seconds in Starcraft? I'm sure my brain will fry even before I get to 100 moves but for now just check on the demo after the break by a Korean Pro Gamer.

Not so long ago, Geek Pinoy was conceptualized over a meal right after some movie we don’t even remember, in celebration of some occasion. Little did we know that Geek Pinoy would be born that night. Then, being seven months in existence in the blogosphere, it has been pretty exciting. With all the events and conventions we got to join, articles we wrote and people we met. Now, we just had our very first TV appearance! Woohoo!
Thanks to the iBlog summit last April, we got to meet Vince and Hannah of Tek Tok TV. After some exchange of emails and a little rescheduling, we got to be featured on their show.
It was a pretty cool experience, actually. My “guide,” Jab, was giving me last minute reminders on what to say, while I was checking on myself and getting to a zen place so as to avoid some untimely fainting spells. Jab is the keep-it-to-me kind of guy so he just made me do the whole thing.

Korea is really stepping it up when it comes to gaming. Gaming is so big there that even their airlines are getting into it. As we all know Starcraft is a major success over at Korea with gamers playing the original Starcraft until today, and I don't mean casual gaming it's all hardcore non-stop Starcraft gaming mind you. I guess Korean Air knows how big of a market gamers are over there and the best way to attract them is to design a plane in the image of their favorite game. Hence forth the Starcraft 2 themed plane complete with TV ads and press conference footage after the break.

With Sony's PS3 marking it's territory here in the Philippines it's no surprise a lot of other video game companies are moving over to the Philippines and officially recognizing us as a gaming country. I mean we haven't heard of anyone actually dying in the internet cafes due to heavy online playing but we're still hardcore in our own right. We just got word that Blizzard Entertainment is officially moving into the Philippines thanks to IAHGames. I read that they're actually adding or moving game servers over to Singapore for much better latency here in our region. I think it's to service Starcraft 2 players here among other games like World of Warcraft and most likely Diablo 3 when it comes out. Starcraft 2 is set to be released on July and I'm sure IAHGames is busy organizing local events to launch this great game to us here in the Philippines. It's really good to know that geeks in the Philippines are getting the attention they long for in an industry that's basically dominated by the rich countries. Check the source links to get more info.

Here's your chance to score a free movie pass to Twilight Saga: Eclipse. All you need is a little patience to dial a phone number and an Ayala Malls Acard. Oh, and you need to be close to an Ayala Mall but then again who isn't right? If you live in the Philippines that is. I know a lot of girls and probably guys would want to see this movie just to see Edward and Jacob bite the living day lights out of that evil vampire army we always see in the trailers. Not to mention poor helpless Bella who's still not a vampire by the way. Check the break for all the little details and the poster that's too small too read.

Apple sold over 3 million iPads in the last 80 days. That's 3 MILLION units sold in less than three months. While that's a very impressive number a lot of countries are still clamoring for the official iPad release including the Philippines. July might be the magical month for us here in the Philippines as the Press Release also mentions that nine more countries will officially have the iPad next month. So you better start saving geeks, you might need all that cash to buy something magical. Here's to hoping we're part of the "lucky 9". Check out the official press release after the break.

Hi Gleeks! Rumor has it that Charice will join the cast of Glee. She denied it before, but now it seems that the skies cleared up and she really IS joining our favorite show! According to the story, she will be a foreign exchange student with a powerful voice and will be Rachel’s (Lea Michele) rival. This season is soooo oozing with excitement! Can’t Stop saying that I’m proud to be a Filipina.
Let’s all root for our very own child wonder, Charice!
Update: Charice confirmed via her official Twitter Account Check out her tweet after the break.

I'm sure a lot of iPad owners out there don't really care about the iPad as their main blogging device. But every now and then I blog on the iPad itself when I have nothing better to do. Just to make things a little more challenging for me. Today I just tried to blog on the iPad again and noticed that Blogger doesn't allow the Compose Mode anymore when using the iPad's Mobile Safari. I know it barely works in the first place so I'm sure nobody really cares but for all the bloggers like me who like to force themselves to blog on the iPad this might be a big thing. Luckily we can still blog on it using Edit HTML Mode. I hope the guys over at Blogger fix this or find an easier way for us to blog on the iPad. Blogger App anyone? I still have the full screen shot on the other half of this post if you're into that sort of thing.
