I don't know why but writers nowadays seem to want kids to go into battle or war of some sort. If you loved the Hunger Games books and movie you already know what I'm talking about. Most likely because it's an idea that sells and you have kids wishing they had some kind of super hero power and saving the world or something like that. In the Ender's Game Movie Earth was attacked by aliens and humanity was almost wiped out, now the only thing that can defeat the alien invaders are specially trained soldiers which are kids. The movie justifies the plot as something the enemy wouldn't expect. It's based on a great selling book so what could go wrong right? Anyways, just go ahead and watch Harrison Ford and Ben Kingsley order a bunch of kids to destroy the enemy in the trailer after the break.
